Want to get beyond the church lingo?  Here's some information about what our Sunday mornings look like.

9:00 AM – Sunday School
We offer Sunday School for children ages 4-10, using Godly Play.  Godly Play is a Montessori based program, where children learn through hands-on experience about God’s story in the Bible and where our lives intersect with God’s story today.  It uses parables (a specific type of story Jesus used to explain things to His followers), sacred story, silence and liturgical action to help children become more comfortable with the elements of our worship.  Godly Play helps children to become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.  The shape of the Godly Play program mirrors the shape our our Episcopal service.
Children ages 11 and up have a separate class in the Journey to Adulthood program (aka J2A), called Rite 13.  It helps them to prepare for lives as adult people of faith.
If you want to find out more, you are welcome to come and observe a class any Sunday.

9:15 AM – Adult Bible Study
We gather at 9:15 to discuss the scripture readings for the day.  Our conversations often centers on how what we find in the Bible affects our daily lives and our faith.  In the Episcopal Church, we take the Bible very seriously, but not literally.  Questions are always welcome.

10:15 – 11:30 Worship Service - followed by coffee hour
In the Episcopal church, we worship on Sunday with a service of Holy Communion (also know as the Eucharist).  Our service is lively, with a great deal of music.  We listen to several scripture readings, and then the priest offers a sermon which explains more about the readings and connects them to our daily lives.  We pray.  And we share communion - bread and wine, the Body and Blood of Christ.  In the Episcopal Church, all who share in worship with us are invited to share in communion.

Here are some new pictures of our Sunday School kids, dressed up to celebrate All Saints Day!

Everyone is dressed up as a saint: St. Joan of Arc, St. Martha and the dragon she tamed, St. Joseph, St. Isabelle, St. Patrick, St. Mary (the mother of Jesus) and St. Francis.  Below, we are in church, helping the people to understand about saints. If you go the St. Barnabas page on Facebook, you can see the Smilebox that features all of us and plays some great All Saints' music!
